why hide, oh moon?
did the lake’s dark mood frighten
you this stormy night?

a growing confidence

now blessed by the lake
with essence reflected, the bush
looms larger than life

the great, leaping frog
one moonlit night on the lake
travels to the stars

seduced by the cold
the lake stays completely still
in winter’s embrace

autumn by the lake
seeing the frog hit water
the beaming moon waves
