winter’s burden

burdened by winter,
strands of grass bend to ground like
my white tired hair

A snowy winter

cold and terrible
by reputation, bright and
white my experience

as ebb tides flow

with eyes set on sea
I hear the voice of white on
blue now call to me

a lone mountain

with everywhere white
loneliness gathers meaning
as winter clings on

all for one and one for all

how strange that white light
conceals a multitude of
colours from plain sight

blue delight

hidden amongst the
fluffiness of cotton white
clouds, an azure sky

too cold to care

leaves all in white past
caring if the groom arrives
one cold winter’s day

without a trace

with nothing but white
winter wipes away autumn’s
leafy memories
