Like the silent moon
you may not be heard, but your
presence fills my heart
precious moments
Standardlet us rise freshly
with the sun and treasure each
passing day with joy
sadness in our time
Standardpity the wind that
can only carry fear to
instill division
transient moments
StandardHow strange to watch our
lives pass like a mere ripple
through the endless sea
distractions
Standard
arising from sleep
only to lose sight of day
amidst clouds and mists.
colours of life
StandardJust like the sun, we
reveal our truest colours
in moments of tears
An observation
StandardWords seek to capture
experience, while life offers
colours to share them
Life can be full of joy
Standard
I do not need magic when I have the sun on my face,
the wind at my back and all before me is full of colours
dancing to the sound of laughter.
you light up my heart
Standardlittle by little
my burning heart is consumed by
your sudden bloom
A bright outlook
StandardThe colours of spring
paint a rosy picture full
of cherry blossoms
a wave of emotions
Standard
like an ocean wave
emotions are seen flowing
across still water
Be bright and beautiful
Standardbe the moon and I
the sun and let us shed light
on every moment
a feeling of love
Standard
Whenever I am with you,
the world remains still.
No wonder my heart worships
your every movement,
your every breath.
For you are like the light,
seen dancing with dawn;
your arrival is what gives
life its truest meaning.
For in your light, I find that
everything has a place.
Even shadows linger, to promise
more than emptiness –
if our hearts so desire.
an overwhelming feeling
Standardtouched by the seasons
like a river, my heart can
overflow with tears
There is more to dreams
Standard
It is deemed wasteful to try to grasp
what we know can’t be reached
and yet it would be a shame not to try.
For what we encounter on a journey
can often be more fruitful than
what is found on reaching the end.
the eye often deceives
Standardeven in the light
of day reality gives
birth to countless myths
technology
StandardI feel abandoned
by a future racing to
shape reality
be in my dreams
Standardseeing the bright moon
my thoughts linger awhile
watching dreams take shape
Tired leaves
StandardBefore me, I see leaves in the wind
brought low by growing ambitions.
Once they clung to extended branches
that drew my gaze towards heaven;
where days were long and bright
and nights were filled with endless stars.
But in their search for clarity that a
supporting trunk proclaimed existed
the leaves dared to race against time,
only to be scarred by the seasons.
Now rooted in dreams no more,
like tattered laurels, the leaves are cast
aside by wild and unkind winds.
Though fate did play a merry tune once
but untethered to supporting limbs
the passing wind did change their vantage.
Just as all must shrivel and die
so too must leaves when left un-nurtured.
distracted by materialism
Standardall are born wealthy
but in our drive to get rich
we deny the truth
otter surprises
Standarda moment made to bear
the weight of a winter dream
full of surprises
our polluted minds
Standardstrained by ambitions –
we allow nature to drown
in a pool of red
Gravity waves
Standardripples from the past
here to shape a future of
possibilities
a loving exchange
Standardas I look at you
I feel you looking at me
setting my heart free
bright and beautiful
Standardthe colours of spring
announce the arrival of
brighter times to come
our greatest folly
Standard
how futile the dreams of men,
we all eagerly rush to change the world
but forget to change ourselves
The seed of hope
Standard
my heart is stilled by
winter, but in my hand I
hold the seed of hope
A gathering shadow
Standardswaying with the wind
crows gather like leaves to share
the growing darkness
In anticipation of the changing season
StandardI cannot wait to
dance with spring and hear my voice
in the summer breeze
winter’s burden
Standardburdened by winter,
strands of grass bend to ground like
my white tired hair
A dreamy winter moment
Standard
Just beyond the mist
an autumn moment invades
a winter landscape
Cheated by time
Standardtrees grow tall with time
but as the years go by we
only grow shorter
An emptiness to fill
Standardwhen alone, I feel incomplete in the light of day
Where does reality begin and end?
Standardthe root of reality is far from clear
No one is perfect, let us be respectful.
Standard
The voice of reason is often said to be carried
by winds to distant shores to enlighten those
left too long in the shadow of ignorance.
But the truth is not so pleasant,
for what blows across tempestuous oceans
not only carries wisdom, but also
the weight of prideful dust sprinkled with conceit.
Being often plagued with misperception,
the hot air that rises to take up high moral ground,
can also find itself fall as easily as rain that gathers
from the shadows of its own darkened clouds.
life an open book
Standard
If only life was an open book, I would
happily write all day to change the plot
and make the world happier and funnier
a final insult
Standard
pity the fallen
who days before stood tall, now
denied dignity
A changing wind
Standardyou arrived so fresh
O wind, only to bring
a storm of problems
the warmth from the heart
Standardthe warmth of dreams can
even make winter coldness
quickly melt away
taking shape
Standardunder sun and clouds
a shadow grows awaiting the
touch of perception
fertile imagination
Standardlet feet remain forever planted on
the fertile lands of imagination
An open book
Standard
etched on my face, the passage of many seasons
my beloved, my inspiration
Standardeverything I feel
everything I imagine
is because of you
heads buried in the sand
Standard
blessed with sight, and yet
blinded to the truth we drift
into endless storms
plucked from life
Standardgathering beauty
only to see it wilt in
the prime of its life
rushing to judgement
Standardhow quick we are to
judgement, like a rushing stream,
narrow our reasons
Let it grow freely
Standardlove is more radiant
when left free to grow in the
garden of our hearts
stillness brings clarity
StandardHeron, stay a while
help me find wisdom in the
gathering stillness
an earthly soul
Standardseeded from the light
of heaven, but grounded to
earth these old, old trees
cold frosty morning
Standardcold January –
my flesh, feeling torn from limbs
yearn for summer’s warmth
